Biography :
Hilda Paredes is a well established international composer with over 25 years’ teaching experience, and a busy free-lance career.
As a teacher she has taught at all levels from beginners to university music students at several international institutions such as the University of Buffalo where she regularly is a guest lecturer, at Mills College and Dartmouth College in the US, Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, University of Mexico and Manchester University in the UK.
Her music been commissioned by soloists, ensembles and orchestras around the world and has been performed by internationally renowned ensembles and soloists. Her music is widely performed at important international festivals such as Huddersfield and the Edinburgh Festival in the UK; Eclat and Ultraschall in Germany; Festival d’Automne a Paris, Biennale di Venezia in Italy; Wien Modern in Austria; Warsaw Autumn, in Poland; Archipel, Tage fur Neue Musik, in Switzerland; De Ijsbreker Chamber Music Festival, in Amsterdam Ultima, in Oslo; Melbourne Festival, Composers Portrait Series at Miller Theatre NY, June in Buffalo, Tanglewood in the US, Ars Musica in Bruxelles; Festival de Alicante, Festival de Música Religiosa de Cuenca and ENSEMNS Festival, in Spain; Festival del Centro Histórico and Festival Internacional Cervantino in Mexico, amongst others.
