Biography : I was a pupil of Horace Fellowes, who was a pupil of Carl Flesch, who was a pupil of Joseph Joachim. I also did a year studying with Henry Holst. I was a member of the Scottish National Orchestra for 7 years, then a member of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for 7 years. I then became a member of the London Symphony Orchestra for 27 years. On retiring I freelanced with several orchestras including the Bergen Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Liverpool Symphony Orchestra and others.
